Paneer Jalfrezi is stir fry gravy having chunks of paneer with onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers. The paneer along with the vegetables are well coated with the thick and spicy gravy.
Many of you think,what does Jalfrezi means? Jalfrezi is the Indian version of Chinese stir-fry.During the British rule in India, they have came up with it by stir frying leftover veggies with meat in thick, spicy, tangy sauce.

PANEER JALFREZI RECIPE
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
3 Green chilli
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 tomato, finely chopped
1 Capsicum, sliced
1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
2 tbsp coriander leaves
3/4 cup tomato puree
Pinch of Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala
Salt as required
- Heat oil in a pan,add cumin and allow to splutter.
- Then add sliced Onion,Green Chilli,Ginger Garlic Paste and saute till onion becomes soft
- Add chopped tomato and Capsicum,cover and cook for 3 mins.Then add Tomato puree and all the spices powder.
- Cover and cook for 5 mins or till the raw smell goes off.
- Then add Paneer and mix gently so that all the masala are coated well on paneer.
- Finally check for salt and garnish with coriander leaves.
